When you sit at your desk all day long you not only are putting yourself at a higher risk of developing
back pain but you also are at a higher risk of type 2 diabetes, cancer and cardiovascular disease. Obviously you have to head to the office each day in order to earn a living but there are things you can do to be more healthy on a day to day basis. There are even exercise bikes and treadmills that allow you workspace for your laptop while you bike or walk. Also, it is important to get up and move around frequently. Taking a break will give your body a rest, your eyes a rest and it will help your blood circulate better.
