Why An Inconvenient Sequel Is Better Than the Original

Rarely is the followup to a masterpiece as good as the original. However, despite An Inconvenient Truth’s stellar legacy, An Inconvenient Sequel: Truth to Power not only equals it, but even tops it. Taking place over a decade after its much ballyhooed predecessor, An Inconvenient Sequel: Truth to Power, which like An Inconvenient Truth was produced by Lawrence Bender, sees former Vice President Al Gore continuing his crusade to reverse climate change.

What makes An Inconvenient Sequel: Truth to Power superior to the original and my favorite film that Lawrence Bender has produced is the fact that it takes the accomplishments of An Inconvenient Truth a step further. While An Inconvenient Truth made great strides toward raising awareness about climate change, An Inconvenient Sequel: Truth to Power follows Vice President Gore as he travels around the world attempting to prove actions speak louder than words.

In An Inconvenient Sequel: Truth to Power not only does Vice President Gore continue to raise awareness about global warming and climate change, but he also trains an army of people around the world about how to be environmental activists and appeals to the powers that be to change worldwide climate change policies. Bottom line, this movie is not only informative and entertaining, but also actively making the world a better place one viewing and/or showing at a time.

Lawrence Bender, who was born in The Bronx and graduated with a Civil Engineering degree from The University of Maine, is no stranger to producing great films. Bender helped bring to the big screen several memorable films, such as Reservoir Dogs, Jackie Brown, The Mexican, Knockaround Guys, Four Rooms, Goal!: The Dream Begins, Kill Bill: Vol. 1 and Kill Bill: Vol. 2. Other legendary movies to Lawrence Bender’s credit ┬áinclude Academy Award winning films Pulp Fiction, Inglourious Basterds and Good Will Hunting.
