Dr. Jim Toner Education Background
Jim Toner graduated from St. Joseph’s College in Philadelphia and attained a bachelor of science degree in psychology. He acknowledges that this has made him build the active doctor-patient relationship when it comes to coaching patients with reproductive problems. After graduating, he immediately joined the Medical Scientist Training program at the University of Pennsylvania where he was awarded a Masters degree and Ph.D. in 1985. He later joined Residency and Fellowship training at the Jones Institute under the institution’s founder Howard W. Jones, Jr., MD. He was later discovered to possess a gift in teaching, and that’s where he gained the Residency of the Year Award. Few years after, he became an associate professor at the institute.
Jim Toner, the fertility doctor, nurtured his career at the Jones Institute for Reproductive Medicine in Norfolk, VA. He became successful and was appointed the director of fellowship programs and third-party reproductive programme. He later joined the Atlanta Center for Reproductive medicine in 2000. He is currently based in ACRM where he is still the director of fellowship programs and Third-Party Reproductive Programs.
Fertility Career and Achievements
Jim Toner has achieved a lot in the reproduction and fertility medicine. He has done a total of 100 abstracts, 80 articles, and 20 chapters regarding the field. Besides, he is famous for research he conducted that was based on the ovarian reserve and its impact on the fertility. On top of that, he has researched and published the results on the effects of progesterone in luteal support of Assisted Reproduction cycles. Throughout his career, he has been awarded a couple of awards. First, he received the OSHA award from the American Association of Fertility and the Ciba-Geigy Award from the American College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists. He has also been awarded twice by the First Prize Paper Awards.
He is known community leader where he has given speeches and over 200 presentations to the local and national fertility and reproductive meetings. Moreover, he is a member of the American Society of Reproductive Medicine (ASRM). Furthermore, he served as the president and the Chair of the Registry Committee in the Society for Assisted Reproductive Technology (SART).
Since he has a bachelor’s degree in Psychology, he provides emotional support to clients who have fertility and reproduction issues. This has made him interact with more patients leading to a successful career.
