In recent news, former Hawks ownership is set to sue an insurance agency over Ferry settlement. The former ownership group filed a lawsuit against the Insurance Agency for breach of contract entailing the resolution of claims established by the previous general manager, Danny Ferry. This trial does not include the present Hawks ownership group headed by Forbes billionaire Tony Ressler. The former Hawks ownership group includes the controlling partner, Bruce Levenson.
The accusation, filed at the Supreme Court of Fulton County against the New Hampshire-based insurance company is also described as AIG. It is a civil response to the insurance’s bad faith and breach of contract. AHBE claims it had a policy that covered it against certain losses relating to employment practices that included Workplace Torts and Wrongful Termination. According to the documents presented at the courts, AHBE gave AIG a notice on April 2, 2015.
The Ferry and Hawks ownership undisclosed buyout agreement was reached on June 22, 2015. This agreement ended the relationship that started with an $18 million contract in the year 2012. The sale of the patent to the Ressler-led group was approved two days later.
In a statement, the current Hawks ownership spokesman said that they are aware of the accusation. That the main parties involved are no longer related to the Atlanta Hawks and that the organization will not have further comments on the matter.
