Hurdles by women business owners – Mina Ebrahimi

When you own a business without having any partnerships, the onus is completely on you to make it successful and it gets really hard. And if it’s a small business, then it might be more challenging to scale and if you are a women business owner, then you are setting up yourself for some extra hassle. According to Mina Ebrahimi, the owner of Saint Germain Catering, even though money is definitely the number one priority in all the businesses across the globe, there are many hurdles that female business owners face. Let us look at some of them through her eye:

  • Perception is one of the main hurdles that women business owners face day in and day out. She feels that there is still a lot of debate about the leadership potential of women. If you are too friendly, there are people who could easily take advantage of you and if you are too harsh, then you are likely to be looked upon as weird. Ms. Ebrahimi feels that there is a thin line that all the women business owners need to draw to be successful at what they do.
  • Creating a strong work culture is very vital for successful business operations on a daily basis. According to Ms. Ebrahimi, women tend to bring more positive culture into the workplace as they have the inherent quality if bringing everyone on the same page. Even though this is not as easy as it seems and a lot of women face different setbacks, establishing an appropriate corporate setting could pay off in a million ways. She feels that there are some taboos created in the world that are very focused towards women. If you cry after having a long and tough day or hug someone for something good, people generally do not consider these to be inappropriate outside of work. But since women are known to be very emotional, it gets carried away in the workplace and Ms. Ebrahimi believes that it is good to draw a thin line here.

While there could be more than the above, she is still a strong advocate of creating a healthy and conducive work environment.

Lacey and Larkin’s Frontera Fund Advocates for Migrant Rights

The Frontera Fund is an organization that supports migrant rights across Arizona. Founded in 2014 the fund is a sarcastic love letter to ex-Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio. Arpaio, whose ardent stance against illegal immigration was the subject of much controversy, was a popular target for the media.

Co-founders of Phoenix New Times Michael Lacey and Jim Larkin were the most fervent, dogging Arpaio at every corner, and exposing numerous scandals over the breadth of his tenure. Arpaio responded by investigating the paper. Read more: Lacey and Larkin Frontera Fund and Michael Lacey | Crunchbase

When Larkin and Lacey printed a confidential subpoena in their byline, Arpaio responded by arresting the two. After a 24-day incarceration the newsmen were freed, and in the following years they sued for wrongful imprisonment.

They won and immediately used the $3.75 million dollar payout to create the Frontera Fund. Now the fund gives aid to Latin groups that support migrant rights, and fights against the institutions Arpaio helped build. Everything they accomplish is funded by money the duo received from suing Arpaio. Learn more about Michael Lacey and Jim Larkin: and

The Frontera Fund supports many groups that are avid advocates for human, civil, and migrant rights. To be eligible for support, such groups must operate out of Maricopa County. The ACLU of Arizona is one organization. The AZ ACLU was formed in 1959, it is a successful challenger of Arizona laws that unfairly target minorities.

Through its tireless work it has rendered many laws unconstitutional, defended day worker’s rights to free speech, and famously led the defense of laborer Ernesto Miranda. The outset of Miranda’s case led to the institution of Miranda rights being read during an arrest. The American Immigration Council is a Washington D.C. based organization, but it operates in many states.

The purpose of American Immigration Council is to educate people on the subject of immigration. The hope is that a better knowledge of immigrant history will shape how people feel about immigration and influence the way they act. The group also has policy and legal programs that promote fair policies towards immigrant, more humane treatment, and ensure justice through the law.

AZ ACLU and American Immigration Council are only two groups that garner support from the Frontera Fund. Through its generous donations the fund allows such groups to continue their impactful work on the lives of migrants everywhere.

It continues to support advocate groups across Maricopa County, and seeks out new groups to ensure a better quality of life. In the midst of the dispute over illegal immigration is more important than ever for groups like this to support human rights.

Why An Inconvenient Sequel Is Better Than the Original

Rarely is the followup to a masterpiece as good as the original. However, despite An Inconvenient Truth’s stellar legacy, An Inconvenient Sequel: Truth to Power not only equals it, but even tops it. Taking place over a decade after its much ballyhooed predecessor, An Inconvenient Sequel: Truth to Power, which like An Inconvenient Truth was produced by Lawrence Bender, sees former Vice President Al Gore continuing his crusade to reverse climate change.

What makes An Inconvenient Sequel: Truth to Power superior to the original and my favorite film that Lawrence Bender has produced is the fact that it takes the accomplishments of An Inconvenient Truth a step further. While An Inconvenient Truth made great strides toward raising awareness about climate change, An Inconvenient Sequel: Truth to Power follows Vice President Gore as he travels around the world attempting to prove actions speak louder than words.

In An Inconvenient Sequel: Truth to Power not only does Vice President Gore continue to raise awareness about global warming and climate change, but he also trains an army of people around the world about how to be environmental activists and appeals to the powers that be to change worldwide climate change policies. Bottom line, this movie is not only informative and entertaining, but also actively making the world a better place one viewing and/or showing at a time.

Lawrence Bender, who was born in The Bronx and graduated with a Civil Engineering degree from The University of Maine, is no stranger to producing great films. Bender helped bring to the big screen several memorable films, such as Reservoir Dogs, Jackie Brown, The Mexican, Knockaround Guys, Four Rooms, Goal!: The Dream Begins, Kill Bill: Vol. 1 and Kill Bill: Vol. 2. Other legendary movies to Lawrence Bender’s credit  include Academy Award winning films Pulp Fiction, Inglourious Basterds and Good Will Hunting.

Help Andy Wirth in This Navy Seal Foundation Course

One day not long ago, The President and CEO of Squaw Valley Andy Wirth, who is an avid skydiver, was enjoying a day out with two of his friends. Then something unpleasantly horrible happened.
He landed into a vine yard unknowingly while down winding. Everyone knows that a vineyard is not a favorite place to land unknowingly. In the process, his arm was seriously injured, to an extent he had to forsake his number one passion; skydiving.
He was taken to hospital and recuperation journey commenced. Immense help from family, friends and therapists aided recovery very well.
However, something really good happened during recovery phases at Squaw Valley. Mr. Wirth became a really close friend of a group of people from Navy Seal Foundation whose mission is to provide immediate and ongoing support and assistance to the Neval Special Warfare Community and its families.

  1. Wirth then joined this foundation established in 2000, which provides a comprehensive set of programmes to Neval Special Warfare support personnel and their families and specifically designed to reduce stressors associated with the tremendous uncertainty and pressure that comes with life in the warfare, and as for now he has raised 44% funds. That is $13,110 of $30000.

Join Mr. Andy Worth in this noble course and help the warfare community front liners who spent up to 270days a year away from their homes and in the extremely ruthless environments or training at a very rough pace in order to uphold their abilities to execute the nation’s toughest military missions. This commitment is only possible because of their significant sacrifices and that of their families.
Stand for the SEAL warriors in this because they and their families cannot stand in this on their own. Help improve their health and warfare, build and enhance resiliency, empower and educate their families and provide critical support during times of illness, injury, and loss.
Please visit Crowdrise support to show your support to Mr. Andy and the Navy Seal Foundation and donate. Also visit the link to know more information about the Crowdrise and that noble course.
